It's a date

Yes a date.

I am going to have dinner on Friday night with a guy I'm not related to. I will not have to cut his food for him, beg him to eat or threaten to take away dessert if he doesn't eat. This guy's voice has changed, which is a nice change, and the evening's conversations will not be dominated by the antics of animated characters or imaginary friends.

I will not have to get a booster seat for him at the movie. I will not have to watch a G-rated animated feature. I will not have to put up with whining for popcorn, candy and a drink.

If at the end of the night I get a hug or a kiss I will not have to bend in half to receive it. I will not have to buckle him into his car seat, and we can both ride in the front when going from dinner to the theater. (Because of schedulling we will have to meet at the restaurant).

It will be a glorious adult evening. Of course there is a hint of high school -- I have a 10:45 curfew. My son's daycare center, God Bless them, are offering a parent's day out with FREE babysitting for the evening. E's dinner will cost me $3 but it is a minuscule price to pay compared to the going rate for babysitting.

Speaking of babysitting. I was at a stamping party yesterday and a non-stamper that lives about 25-30 minutes away (vs an hour or more for most of my friends) offered to babysit ANY TIME. Her fee? Make me a set of cards. I am so there. I hope there is a second date or even a third, fourth.....

Our Stampin' Up demonstrator is giving up her business (trading demos for diapers) and we are now forced to find a new one or have one of us do it. I would love to do it but there are a few problems. I am really debating on this one. So here are the pros and cons.

Pros
1. I love stamping and I would get to do a lot of it.
2. discounts on stamps
3. extra money (that I would probably spend on stamps)
4. meeting new people
5. it's not a kid activity

Cons
1. It would mean more time away from E (I feel bad that I don't spend enough time with him as it is, though this weekend he patted me on the back when I sat down next him while he was watching a movie and said, "Mom it's time for you to go stamp.")
2. What do I do with E as far as child care goes. I can't rely on the "make me a card lady" forever.
3. Would I love stamping so much if it were a JOB.
4. I'm not much on "selling"
5. If I'm good there will be a lot of math & paper work
